02 Mar Spring Break Poetry/Watercolour Masterclass- Registration OPEN!
LITGROUPS is excited to offer its first ever Masterclass, where students can focus on and hone specific skills and complete a finished product, all in one week! During Spring Break 2017, students will learn about, experience and write haiku (a Japanese 17-syllable poem about the natural world). Local artist and educator Lisa Lysack will also guide us through the finer points of watercolour technique to illustrate our original writing. Students’ final work will be published, and each student will receive a copy of the book of poetry and art we have made together.
Here are the details:
Where: The Literacy Centre, 662-10th Street in Brandon (brick building kitty-corner to 7-11)
When: Spring Break (March 27-31) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm daily
Who: Students grades 3-6
Cost: FREE
Registration is now open for this event- just click the ‘register now’ link on our homepage! There are 20 spots available on a first-registered, first-accepted basis. You will receive a confirmation email upon registration.
Parents, please note that for your child to participate it is expected that they are able to attend all 5 days of programming. This is because we are working toward a finished, publishable end product which requires some time! Your child will receive a copy of our class’s compiled work once the work has been compiled and printed. Thanks for considering this before registering.
