Roxanne
Roxanne Dyck discovered that children’s books are beautiful, fabulous, and poignant…all while trying to keep her extremely active first child from tearing her house apart. Skill-building, imagination-blossoming, relationship-building…who knew that reading together could be so great?! Since 2009, Roxanne and her husband Dwayne along with countless others have worked to provide some of what they ensured for their own kids – a safe, caring place where literacy is valued, encouraged and engaged in together, with individualized support all along the way…LITGROUPS: Linguistic Inspiration Together! Roxanne has a 2-year certificate from Winkler Bible Institute, a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education (a gold medal recipient for Music Education program) from Brandon University, as well as a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate from Assiniboine Community College. She is also a certified Coachnet International coach. She has taught for the Brandon School Division and Westman Immigrant Services, and has taught piano privately for 20 years. Roxanne has worked with at-risk youth as a drop-in staff, as well as with volunteers and new staff as a mentor and trainer with Westman Youth For Christ.
